A garden
sanctuary, hidden
from the rush.

Not a concept café. Not a destination on a tourist map. The Hidden Space is a living garden — tucked into the quiet outskirts of Ubud — where lanterns filter afternoon light through tropical plants and the pace is unhurried by design.

"Stepping into The Hidden Space feels like slipping into a quiet sanctuary tucked away from Bali's usual bustle."

— Guest Review

You find us by choosing to look. There is a library shelf if you need it, a comfy couch if the afternoon runs long, and orchid flowers threaded through the garden because the space was always meant to be beautiful rather than functional.

Nature is the architecture.
The garden is always open.

Local Coffee

Indonesian coffees and teas sourced from across the archipelago. V60, strong local brews, and special tea blends made with intention.

Library

A curated shelf of books — read one, leave one. The library is yours for as long as the afternoon allows.

Garden Seating

Indoors and outdoors, surrounded by tropical plants and orchid blooms. Cozy nooks, comfortable couches, and long tables for working.

Events & Workshops

Small gatherings, creative workshops, private meeting space. A place where community forms around shared ideas.

"The host Bagus is charming and sourcing wonderful coffees and teas from throughout Indonesia. Please try the famous cinnamon cake — a closely guarded Javanese family recipe. Grab a book from the library, settle into a comfy couch."

"Love this literally hidden gem in Ubud. Service is excellent — friendly and helpful, and a rare thing: they offered wifi rather than making us ask. Kiwi the poodle was just lovely."

Wanderlog Review

★★★★★

"The atmosphere is incredibly cozy, peaceful, and comfortable — far from the crowds. Soft light through hanging lanterns, plants curving around seating nooks. A small haven where nature and nurture meet."

"More than anything, it was the overall vibe that made me want to stay."

Built with love,
tended with care.

The Hidden Space was conceived and built by the late Big Bagus — a man who poured love and imagination into every detail of this garden, from the placement of an orchid to the curve of a couch cushion. The café stands as a testament to that original spirit: the belief that a space can hold people gently, that beauty and usefulness are the same thing.

Today, Lil Bagus carries the space forward with the same warmth. He sources exceptional coffees and teas from across the Indonesian archipelago, hosts small workshops and community events, and treats every guest as someone worth knowing — not a transaction to process.

The dog is Kiwi. She is friendly and will probably weave through the tables while you work. This is not a bug.
